We’ve just received our custom Wisconsin Woolen Spun Worsted yarn to create the spectacular Snowy Shawl designed by Jessica McDonald. I’ve always wanted to knit a colorwork shawl in the round and here is the perfect opportunity. The Snowy Shawl is an absolute stunner and the beautiful yarn we’ve pulled together will make it even better. Jessica also has Snowy Hat and Snowy Mittens so this kit would work perfectly for those if you aren’t interested in a shawl, see links for those patterns below.

Jessica provides great pattern support through her video tutorials, the links are provided in the pattern. You can find Jessica on Instagram right here. She even had loads of great tutorials on her feed.

Here is the shawl description directly from Jessica:

"A masterpiece of colorwork knitting, the Snowy Shawl is inspired by snow falling gently on a forest of pine trees. Worked in the round and steeked, the shawl begins with a stockinette tab and is worked from the top down in the round. Different rates of increases are used to create a triangular shawl that is longer across the top without becoming too deep. Knit in worsted weight yarn, the Snowy Shawl is warm and snuggly, sure to become your go-to neckwear on frosty days.

The shawl is steeked after being knit, and stitches are picked up and knit to hide the steek. Tutorials on how to reinforce and cut the steek are available to help you.

If you want to make a coordinating set, the Snowy Shawl matches the Snowy Hat and Snowy Mittens. These patterns include sizes from child to adult.”

I think you’ll love this one-of-a-kind colorwork shawl kit. Thank you to Jessica for giving us permission to create the kit with her pattern.
