We have created some beautiful little Snowfall Sweater Kits for you today. The pattern is by Jessica McDonald. One kit colorway includes Home Fingering Weight in Picket Fence (creamy white) for the main color and Bluff (blue) for the contrast color shown in the samples, and the second option is Rhubarb (rosy pink) for the main color and Picket Fence (creamy white) for the contrast color. The sweater is a top-down seamless knit with a stranded yoke and a simple texture pattern on the body and sleeves. There are six sizes from 3 months to 6 years.

Thank you, Jessica, for the opportunity to make an original Barrett Wool Co. Kit for your Snowfall sweater. Jessica is having a 15% off sale price on her Snowfall sweater right now on her Ravelry page. The pattern needs to be purchased from Ravelry for the kit.

I’ve also included a kit option for the Leia Bonnet, designed by Mel Clark. The Leia Bonnet pattern is found in two places, the book Knitting Gifts for Baby and on Ravelry for individual purchase both released in 2013. I love the clever design of this bonnet which Mel came up with after she found a vintage crochet pattern that used the same construction. The two side circles are worked in the round, some of the stitches are put on hold. The remaining stitches are worked back and forth for a bit on both circles and then this section is grafted together to create the bonnet. Then the remaining stitches are used to create the edging and chin strap. It is really fun!

If you choose to include the Leia Bonnet in your kit you get a matching skein of Home Worsted Weight in either the Picket Fence of Rhubarb for the bonnet. If you’d like a contrasting edging like on my version, I suggest you hold the leftover contrast color from your sweater in Home Fingering Weight doubled (which creates a worsted weight) for that part. You can use the leftover contrast for pom-pom ears if you like, as well!

I asked Mel Clark for express permission to use her pattern for our kit and luckily for us she said yes. Thank you, Mel!
