If I had one shawl to wrap around my neck when it’s cooler temps outside I know exactly what I would choose, my Some Kind of Wonderful Shawl. I wear this one more than anything else I’ve ever made. It’s cute, stylish, easy to wear, and it’s the perfect size, not too big or small. It’s also a fun knit.
Today, we are bringing back this fantastic shawl kit, and as a big bonus, it will be discounted 25% off due to the slightly uneven twist on the yarn. It’s a steal of a price. Please take a look at the swatches I knitted with the Home Fingering Weight yarn, and the skeins in the kit photos. All sales are final. I can’t stress enough that the yarn is completely fine and beautiful, it just has a slightly uneven twist. That’s it. It is really not noticeable when worked up, especially in garter stitch.
For the kit this round, we are offering a four skein kit. For the main color or Color 2 of the shawl, we are using two full skeins instead of one. Our previous three skein kits had a few people running short on the Color 2 so we want to make sure you have enough.
I promise that you are going to love this shawl!
Here is all of the information you’ll need about the Some Kind of Wonderful Shawl:
I was traveling recently, and I started a new and incredibly simple shawl at the tail end of the trip. I finished up the remainder of the shawl when I returned home. I really loved knitting it and the results are so pleasing that I decided to share the pattern. I was trying to think of a name for the shawl and was playing around with various travel-related names, but nothing was sticking. Then when I was driving the song Some Kind of Wonderful came on the radio and the name just clicked.
This simple, fun to knit, wearable and most of all, beautiful three-color shawl really is Some Kind of Wonderful!
The three-color shawl is worked horizontally and entirely in garter stitch. Stitches are increased on one side only. In between the garter ridges, several eyelet sections are added for interest. The shawl ends with an extended eyelet section and is bound off with a bobble picot edging.
