Our Flower Fairy & Leaf Sprite Kit has finally arrived and it couldn't be any cuter. It is truly over-the-top! The charm of the project is definitely amped up with our Wisconsin Woolen Spun Sport Weight yarn in six of our sweetest colors. The flower, leaf and fairies are all worked seamlessly so there are no little parts to stitch together at the end. It is all so clever and fun to knit. The flower and leaf make the perfect little pockets to hold the fairy friends. This is the perfect springtime or summer project!

Here is what is included in your kit:

~ Six skeins of Wisconsin Woolen Spun Sport Weight yarn in the colors Harbor, Bayleaf, Blushing, Oats, Birch and Jam, weighing in at least 150 grams in total. There is enough yarn to make a couple of sets of the toys, if not more! You could add your own original flair with stripes or changing the colors to your liking.

~ An adorable box for the storage of yarn, work in progress, and then possibly the finished toys (when not in use)! The sturdy box is decorated with Susan's original artwork. It would make the perfect box for gifting, too!

~ A Ravelry pattern download code is included on a card inside the box.

~ Pattern purchase is optional for those who already own a copy from Making Magazine or as an individual pattern.

~ A tin of 20 assorted stitch markers.

Pattern Note: The samples in the Wisconsin Woolen Spun Sport Weight for the kit were knit on a US size 3 needle. The pattern suggests a US size 4 needle.

Construction Notes:

The flower starts off with a hexagon center that is worked in the round. A pocket is created with a bind off and cast on in the center. The petals are picked up and knit around the edges of the center.

The leaf starts with the I-cord stem and is then worked in the round with increases and decreases. The pocket is created with a bind off and cast on in the center.

The fairy and sprite are the same, starting at the bottom of the body and worked in the round. The body and head are worked in one piece, stuffing as you go. The tiny wings are picked up and knit in garter stitch on the back. The hat is worked separately and in the round.
