I knitted a Moose! And I am pretty excited about it. This was originally published in The Forest issue of Making Magazine and my contribution is the funniest, roundest little moose all wrapped up in a snuggly pine tree sweater. I love the shape and feel of this toy, it is charming and huggable.
The construction for both the Moose and the sweater is seamless and from the bottom-up. I knit the toy at an ever-so-slightly looser gauge to make it extra-squishy for snuggling. The antlers make the moose come together for a darling finishing touch.
Moose: 8” / 20.5 cm tall when seated, including antlers
Sweater: 4” / 10 cm long, 12” / 30.5 cm body circumference
The Kit Includes:
- Home Worsted Weight in Bear (brown), Acorn (tan), Big Woods (dark green), Peppercorn/Pebble/Inkwell (charcoal/black). You will receive enough yarn to make one Moose as well as the original pine sweater. The Bear will come in two skeins, one larger and one smaller.
- A Ravelry download code for the Moose pattern including sweaters (at no additional cost).
- A pair of 6mm black safety eyes with backings and black thread for the face.
- Your kit will come packaged in a printed cotton bag.
