It was meant to be. After I made the Wooly Sheep + Bunny toys I knew I had to make mittens using the same cut loop stitch. These are the warmest, wooliest mittens you’ll ever love! It took some major tweaking of my favorite standby mitten patterns to make it work with this distinctive stitch. At the end, the loops are cut and hand-felted (or fulled) a bit to make these into unforgettable cozy knit mittens. So far my girls all want a pair as soon as they see them, and that is always a good sign.
The Wooly Sheep Mittens are so much fun to make and wear. They use up more yarn than most knit mittens so we have created custom kits that will accommodate the unique loop stitch and yardage requirement. If you’re able to order a couple of kits, it would look great to have a contrasting color for the cuff. I’m doing that for my next pair.
Sizes: Small (medium, large) to fit a 6 (7, 8) - inch hand circumference measured across the knuckles at the base of the fingers. My sample mittens are in the medium size and they fit great.
